QARC is an initiative focused on the practical integration of post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) technologies into real-world applications and infrastructures. The project advances PQC adoption in open source software, embedded constrained devices, and specialized hardware platforms such as FPGAs, where secure PQC implementations are still missing.
Collaboration
Hybrid Schemes
Ensuring long-term security if even if legacy PQC algorithms fail.
Cryptographic Agility
Facilitating seamless cryptographic updates across diverse systems and infrastructures.
Implementation Security
Providing resistance to side-channel attaks in both software and hardware (FPGAs, embedded systems).
EU-wide Pilot Deployments
PQC pilots in eGovernment, cloud infrastructurvces, NCSA services, and open-source ecosystems.
In collaboration with National Cyber Security Authorities (NCSAs), QARC develops novel prototypes, evaluates them in realistic pilot deployments, and creates exemplary strategies for transitioning from legacy cryptography to PQC.
Standardization, Legislation & Awarness
In addition to technical tasks, the QARC project also includes activities focused on standardization and legislation updates and the training and awareness raising activities that are necessary components of successful PQC transition.
